Charlie Chaplin in amongst the 600 extras brought by train to Truckee, Northern California, for a days wage (many vagabonds),to climb up the 2300 foot pass dug through mountain snow, it recreated the historic image in “The Gold Rush”, the prospectors struggling up the Chilkoot Pass.
